WELCOME TO NORTH SHORE DANCE STUDIO
Before We Get Started: Key Information You Need to Know Before Enrolling at NSDS
Studio Safety
No eating or drinking is allowed in the studio. Only water bottles are permitted.
Chewing gum is strictly prohibited.
Fees Policy
Fees must be paid in advance before the start of the term to secure a place in class.
Late fees will apply for payments not received within the first week of the term.
If fees are unpaid and the student has not attended class by Week 3 of the term, their enrollment will be canceled.
No refunds are provided for missed classes due to overseas trips, family holidays, birthdays, minor illnesses, or similar reasons.
If a student withdraws from a class after three weeks of attendance, the full term fee will apply.
For withdrawals before the third lesson, only the weeks attended will be charged.
Enrollment will not be processed if there is an outstanding balance from a previous term or year.
Public Holidays
No classes are held on public holidays. However, you are welcome to attend a class at another studio on a different day to make up for the missed session.
Photos and Digital Display Policy
Photos and videos taken throughout the year may be shared on the DDA Facebook or Instagram pages. Please inform the office if you or your child do not wish to appear in these.
No photos or videos are allowed during classes unless specifically invited by the teacher.
Videos taken during such sessions are not to be shared on social media, to ensure child safety.
Exam Policy
Participation in exams is not guaranteed.
Exam nominations are contingent on full commitment to preparation. Teachers reserve the right to withdraw students from exams if necessary.
Certain syllabus levels require students to attend a minimum of two classes per week. Missing classes may jeopardize eligibility for exams.
Students must have the correct exam uniform, appropriate for their level, from the beginning of the year.
Exam fees are non-refundable, except in cases of injury or illness with a valid medical certificate, in which case a 50% refund may be issued.
Show Policy
Participation in the end-of-year show is optional but highly encouraged as it is the highlight of the year.
A show costume fee will be included in Term 3 fees. This fee covers the costs of sewing, purchasing, laundering, storage, and handling of costumes. Costumes remain the property of the studio and are not kept by students.
Attendance at all show rehearsals is compulsory. In preparation for the concert, NSDS reserves the right to schedule additional rehearsals or adjust the last two weeks of Term 4 lessons if necessary. Details regarding any changes will be provided well in advance to ensure all students can attend. Attendance at these rehearsals is essential for a successful performance.
Participation Confirmation
Parents must notify DDA by the end of Term 2 if their child is unable to participate in the concert. This ensures that no concert costume is ordered unnecessarily. Failure to notify us by this deadline will result in costume costs being charged to your account.
These policies are designed to ensure a positive, safe, and professional environment for all students and their families. Thank you for your cooperation!
